The Voice Live Blog: Team Joel and Team Keith Step Up! Posted by Rose Callaghan 21 May, 2012 - 7:45 PM
Last week brought on some stunning performances but a little too many positive vibes from the judges. This week as Team Keith and Team Joel go head to head, we're hoping for a bit more attitude from Seal, Delta, Joel and Keith! Australia really is behind The Voice - with 18 of the top 30 on the iTunes taken by songs from the show!
7:35pm - We start with the results from last week. Karise and Emma Louise go through to the live finals after stunning performances this week, they are voted through by the public. The next contestants to go through come down to a choice from Seal. He chooses Fatai and Chris Sebastian.

7.47pm - It's Team Delta's turn. Rachel and Viktoria are voted in by the public, while Glenn and Dani are chosen by Delta. High controversy with Ben "Bieber" Bennett not getting through.
7:52pm - Darren Percival gets his cheese on and gets mad props from the judges. Joel says more stuff than Nicole is probably not that cool with.
8:04pm - Prinnie has been handed Nicki Minaj's monster hit, 'Save Me' by coach Joel. She sounded a bit yell-y. Delta tells Prinnie to stick with that genre of music. Good advice for Prinnie aka "Australia's Beyonce".
8:15pm - Adam Martin is singing the Black Keys 'Lonely Boy' and does a grand job of it, accent, inflections and all. He and Keith seem to have a bit of a bro-mance going on. Before the performance Adam keeps talking about how "cool" Keith is.
8:26pm - Ronald McDonald Barbie aka Sarah De Bono is up next singing a song that took her through the hard times - 'Listen' by Beyonce.
SHE. NAILED. IT. She is amazing. The Voice is cancelled. We can all go home now. GAME OVER!
She even killed it after Darren McMullen called her Brittany!
8:35pm - Rocker Jimmy takes on the pub/karaoke classic 'Sweet Child of Mine' by Guns 'n' Roses. He smashes the high notes and produces a stellar performance, but that's not enough for Seal! Despite saying he was amazing he tells him off for not showing up to rehearsals coz he was sick.
Update: Seal's gloves are officially "a thing".

8:43pm - Ben does the Lego House song by Ed Sheeran. Delta calls it her performance of the night and has some really nice, heartfelt things to say about his voice. Very cute.
8:53pm - Everyone got tattoos and are pretty proud of them, even though Ben's is a bit crap. But he got it with Joel Madden! Taga is singing a Jason Derulo song, 'Fight For You'. Which is really cover of a cover of 'Africa' by Toto, but whatever. He has back-up dancers. How is that fair? His performance is a bit shaky.
9:04pm - Laura does a very dark version of Gotye's 'Somebody That I used to Know'. Her hair looks great. Delta calls it a bit "aggressive". Joel says it was "risky".
9: 16pm - Diana is singing another Beyonce song, 'Love on Top'. That marks the second B song of the night plus of course Prinnie is being called "Australia's Beyonce". Diana got Delta out of her chair and Delta was gushinggggg. She has a bit of a girl crush me-thinks.
9:25pm - OMG LAKYN!! *squeals* I know the girls were a bit upset about Ben Bennett leaving, but seriously, Lakyn. I think he sang something, I'm not sure, I was drowning in his eyes. GOOOO LAKYN!!
9:40pm - Brittany Cairns' turn now. WE WANT LAKYN, WE WANT LAKYN!! Sorry, yes, Brittanny. She sounds lovely, kind of like Tina Arena. She looks fantastic, with her tousled girls and floor length blue and white dress. Amazing performance. Of course Delta loves it, a girl after her own heart.
We must mention, Delta has had some pretty solid commentary tonight. She looks great too. We take back everything we said about her fake tan last week.
So that's it! It's over for another week?
Who will you vote for? Whose tracks will you buy? At the end of the show, host Darren McMullen announces that Darren Percival has already entered the iTunes charts.
The performances were great, the judges had a bit more to say and....LAKYN! Can't wait for next week!

Guess what Voice fans! Team Joel have been getting their ink on with the Madden brothers.
Yesterday 4 of Joel's team members got tatted up for a bit of team bonding. Lakyn showed off his new skin art to Fifi & Jules who are backstage for tonight's show!
Lakyn chose to get a dream catcher design on the right side of his torso!

The Dirt's Perth correspondents, Lisa and Paul from The Lisa, Paul & Baz show on 92.9 spoke to Ricki-Lee Coulter this morning who just like us, was blown away by Carmen Smith's surprise elimination from The Voice yesterday, due to her appearance in Guy Sebastian's new music video.
"The thing is, most people in the competition are professional musicians.
"They've released their own EPs; Glen Cunningham has, Prinney Stevens has, Carmen has. So many of them have actually released their own EPs, they're on iTunes, they've done the videos, but it's all been self funded.
"They've toured with myself, Delta [Goodrem], Guy [Sebastian].
"I'm devastated," she said. "Bring Carmen back!"
The starlet also commented on Seal's 'touchy-feely' disposition that has landed him in headlines for being a 'sleaze'!
"He is beautiful, he is mesmerising. You feel his presence, he's hypnotising. He really is.
"He's got this 'thing'. He's very touchy and you know, he gets all up in your grill!
"There's normal space between [people when they] talk, it's generally like a metre. Just in normal chat, [Seal] halves that, so already he's invading your zone.
"And then when he wants to make you really feel his presence, he is basically nose to nose.
"I don't deal very well with people being that close."

In a move that has split fans of The Voice, Sydney contestant, Carmen Smith, has been booted off the show for her cameo in Guy Sebastian's latest video clip for 'Gold'.
29-year-old Smith, who has been an open book about her affiliation with Guy, is the lead female vocalist on the single and features prominently in the clip (which we love ps!).
"It saddens me that I am leaving The Voice much earlier than I had hoped,
"However, I've loved every minute of it and respect the decision that has been made by Joel and his team."

Fox FM's Matt & Jo spoke with Guy this morning who said whilst he doesn't know all the facts and it doesn't make sense to him, he thinks it's 'not nice'.
"She's been my back up singer for about 9 years now and she's been on most of my albums."
The X-Factor Judge went on say he is totally there for his friend.
"For me, all I really care about it my mate."

The gorgeous Larkyn Heperi may not be hitting our screens tonight for the first of the The Voice's live rounds (he's up next Monday) but we're loving this little bit of amazingness we found on the twitters, thanks to @LakynsCrew.
Ok, yeah, he's got fairy wings on and let's be honest, if he wasn't singing on Australia's biggest tv show right now we might think it a little strange but he is on The Voice and even with that matching t-shirt/shirt combo last week (you know what I'm talking about) there's something about him.
Looks like we're not the only one that thinks he's a bit of alright. Could there could be love brewing in the comp? Last night, as #AskLakyn was taking over the twitterverse and trending at No. 1 Australia wide, we noticed a bit of flirting going on between Lakyn & fellow #TeamJoel contestant, Sarah De Bono.
Both 19, both from Melbourne, both massively talented. We totally see these two hooking up!

The Voice coach Joel Madden is looking to move to Australia with his wife and kids. Nicole Richie is currently visiting Joel in Sydney.
"We are looking at schools and we are talking about maybe leasing a place for the next year,” Joel said.
With the success of The Voice, it looks like Joel might be spending a fair bit of time here. The series, which has been getting well over 2 million viewers per night, has already been renewed for next year.
Joel says living in Australia feels more free than the US, where his fame can be overwhelming.
Joel tells Fifi & Jules how he got Nic to marry him!
"The kids, those are the only ones that I'm really protective of. One place that actually respects that in the world is Australia, which I love.”
"I'm loving it because usually I don't have the kids here," Madden said. "I love the light. I love the space. I love that, unlike LA, if you want to find good food and space, you don't have to drive to it. Life is easy living here."

Joel and Nicole have been spotted at Bondi Icebergs for an exclusive party on Thursday, and watching the Waratahs play the Bulls at Allianz Stadium on Friday night.
