Broderick Channels Ferris For Honda Commercial Posted by The Dirtiest 31 January, 2012 - 11:37 AM
Remember 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'? No! Ok, ask your dad and watch his face light up. Ah the memories, bunking school and stealing your dads car and generally being cool.
How it could have all been so different for Matthew Broderick, who let's face it is a massive nerd and a million miles away from the super cool Ferris.
Broderick is channelling Ferris in Honda's new Super Bowl commercial. Super Bowl Commercials are probably more interesting than the game itself and cost companies millions of dollars to produce and as you can see they get worldwide attention.
In the commercial it seems Matthew is having a bit of a midlife crisis, granted it's not a very good one. Instead of razzing around in a Ferrari with best friend and super hot girlfriend, he's pottering around on his own in a family SUV with a stuffed panda.
I'm sure fans of the movie will love it or hate it and those that haven't seen 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' won’t understand any of the points of reference.
I personally think Mathew has sold himself out here and the only thing this commercial has moved me to do is go out to get the DVD.
Look out for the cameo appearance of SJP on the chair of Broderick's manager.
