Who knew trying to lose a bit of weight could end up almost getting you deported? X factor judge Mel B found out the embarrassing way when immigration officials launched an investigation into her work entitlements after it was revealed she signed on the be the new face of Jenny Craig.

Channel 7 are sponsoring the former spice girl, which allows her to work on X Factor, and only X Factor without negotiating other sponsorship. So clearly neither Mel of Jenny Craig did their research!

Supposedly the issue has now been resolved after Mel B’s management met with the department of immigration. Considering her Jenny Craig deal is already said to be worth about $250,000, one wonders if Jenny Craig had to cough up more dough than first predicted to keep her on board...  

Mel is an interesting choice as the ambassador for the weight loss giant, sitting at an arguably healthy 75kg’s (especially considering she has just had a baby!). But perhaps that is the reason for their choice, as there are so many of us out there who can relate to her in  struggling to lose those stubborn extra few kilos.
